Stern to docking has many advantages over docking with the bow in towards land. Stern-to docking is a technique for mooring a boat with its stern (rear) facing the dock. This can be useful in situations where it is difficult or impossible to dock bow-to (front-first), such as when there is limited space or a strong current. In many boats, it’s just easier to load gear and get on and off from the cockpit than over the bow.

Annapolis Yacht Services offers expert haul and launch services for catamarans up to 58 feet. Annapolis Yacht Services uses a self-propelled Conolift, which gently lifts large catamarans from underneath the bridge deck in alignment with the boat’s major bulkheads. This is the same method used at the boat factories, and it ensures that your catamaran is safely and gently lifted out of the water. They also offer hydraulic lift services for power boats. Pier 7 specializes in catamaran dockage and offers one of the largest selections of catamaran slips in the state.
